David Tomasetti installed a custom hydrofoil on a boogie board and is recognized as the first to get notoriety for bodyboard foiling dating back to 2012.
Rules of the Beast
Must show a named rider completing a controlled, wave-powered ride while remaining prone on a bodyboard or boogie-board-style board fitted with a hydrofoil. No tow or motor. This modern category excludes earlier experimental hydrofoil paipos unless a completed controlled ride is documented.
