The Story Behind the Record

The PWA's 2019 Sylt World Cup report states that Nicolas Goyard was crowned the 2019 Men's Foil PWA World Champion on 2019-10-06. The report describes how his third place in the opening race of the day, paired with Alexandre Cousin's fourth, made his championship lead unassailable with a race to spare. It also notes that Goyard had not finished outside the top four through the opening nine eliminations. This records the first men's PWA foil world title milestone as a windsurf foiling first.

Rules of the Beast

To qualify, the source must be the Professional Windsurfers Association or another primary event source explicitly naming the first rider to secure the men's Foil PWA World Champion title. The category is limited to the PWA foil discipline, which is windsurf foiling.
