The Story Behind the Record
When the inaugural official Downwind Parawing World Cup concluded in Leucate, SFT's event recap listed Tom Pansard of France first in the men's final results, ahead of Bastien Escofet and Alan Fedit. Since the event itself was the first official World Cup dedicated to Downwind Parawing, that final ranking also made Pansard the first men's overall winner in this new World Cup discipline. The milestone belongs in a world first series rather than a timed record series because the defining achievement is being the first athlete to win the first official World Cup classification for parawing foiling.
Rules of the Beast
Qualifying entries must be the first overall men's winner listed in the official final results of the inaugural official SFT Downwind Parawing World Cup. The result follows the event organizer's published final ranking. If the official final classification is revised, this event should be revised with it.
How This Got the Nod
