Olympics.com reports that Italy's Marta Maggetti won the women's windsurfing gold medal at Paris 2024 on 2024-08-03, in the first Olympic cycle for the foil-equipped iQFOiL windsurf class. The official report also notes that the medal race used the first ever knockout race in Olympic sailing. This row records Maggetti's victory as the first Olympic women's iQFOiL windsurfing gold medal.
Rules of the Beast
To qualify, the event must be the first Olympic women's iQFOiL windsurfing gold medal awarded in the foil-equipped Olympic windsurf class. The entry must use the official Olympic result or an official Olympic report. This first is specific to iQFOiL windsurfing, not earlier RS:X windsurfing medals.
