JP Australia reports that Maciek Rutkowski crossed the Baltic Sea from Sweden to Poland on 2025-09-18, setting out from Sandhamn in southern Sweden and arriving at Surf Stolica in W?adys?awowo, Poland. The report identifies the equipment as a JP-Australia Hydrofoil Slalom 85 L board and a NeilPryde RS:Flight EVO 6 sail, which places the achievement squarely within windsurf foiling rather than wing or kite foiling. It says two high-powered rescue RIBs and a video crew accompanied the mission, and that the journey faced windless patches, three-meter waves, gusts near 60 km/h, and multiple wipeouts. This row records the crossing as the first publicly documented Sweden-to-Poland Baltic windfoil passage found in the research.
Rules of the Beast
To qualify, the source must describe a point-to-point Baltic Sea crossing from Sweden to Poland on a foil-equipped windsurf board powered by a mounted windsurf rig. The source should identify the rider, the date, the crossing endpoints or route, and clearly indicate that the board was windsurfing equipment rather than wingfoil, kitefoil, or another craft. Safety boat support does not disqualify the crossing as long as the rider completes the windfoil passage.
