He uncovered a dusty relic in an abandoned shack: a set of vintage hydrofoil skis with a red strut and a foil underneath, the kind of stand-up hydrofoil skis most people would walk away from. With no instructions and zero clue, he decided it must be a hydrofoil water ski setup meant for a bold test run.
He rigged a tow rope, convinced a fisherman to pull him, and immediately learned that tow foiling does not reward confidence without balance. After a string of wipeouts, he started paying attention to foil stance and balance, letting the boat tow hydrofoil speed build before trying to muscle anything. When the foil finally lifted, the spray went quiet, and the ride smoothed out, and Ruckus discovered why behind-the-boat foiling feels like cheating gravity when you get it right.
Now he chases late afternoon lake foiling sessions, dialing in foil lift control and foil ride height as he glides through the wake. His signature move, the Relic Wake Pop, is a clean lift-management moment that happens near the wake crest and settles back down with control, not a jump. Follow these tips when applying stickers: Apply the sticker to a clean, dust-free, oil-free, and moisture-free surface. If applied on items that bend, are round, or in a cylinder form, we can’t guarantee its ability to hold.
