The Monster-Sized Story

Malakai Lamby turned the single-battery eFoil distance record into a youth adventure story. Fliteboard reported that the Sunshine Coast rider travelled 67 km on one battery from Golden Beach to Noosa, beating the previous distance mark by 20 km. ABC Sunshine Coast described the ride as an unofficial world record and reported that Coast Guard volunteers, boaters, and other eFoil riders formed a support crew along the route. Fliteboard identified the setup as a Series 2.2 Fliteboard ULTRA with Flite Jet 2 propulsion, a FLUX 1010 front wing, Flow 245C stabiliser, and an experimental extra-large Flitecell Explore battery. The report said he finished with 18 percent battery remaining, which made the ride both a record claim and a strong demonstration of efficient foil control.

Rules of the Beast

The rider must complete the distance on a motorized eFoil using one battery charge. Battery swaps, charging stops, tows, wind propulsion, and paddle-only sections are not allowed for this series. Support boats and safety escorts are allowed if they do not tow, push, or recharge the rider. Distance should be supported by GPS, route reporting, event documentation, or credible public coverage.

How This Got the Nod

Recognized by Flite Australia and covered by ABC as unofficial world record.
